Update from Readington Township Committee

At the June 17, 2024 Readington Township Committee Meeting Mayor Mueller and Committeeman Panico offered their view of the current status regarding the Solberg Master Planning process and the Citizens’ Action Committee (CAC) in response to a residents request. Watch the 3:41 minute video clip below, summarized as follows:

  • Generally the Committee has heard “nothing, radio silence” from the Solbergs according to Mayor Mueller.
  • Councilmen Panico went on to say the Commitee had sent a letter to the NJ-DOT requesting to be on the CAC and received a response that it was the DOT’s expectation the Township will ultimately have a representative on the CAC, BUT it is the Solberg’s committee. This was followed up by the Committee with another request, as part of a press release, to be included on the CAC with no further response.
  • As 2024 began, Mr. Panico states that he and [new] Mayor Mueller met with [our] Congressman [Tom Kean] our District 16 [State] Senator [Andrew Zwicker] and an Assembly(wo)man [either Mitchelle Drulis or Roy Freiman]. To date there has been NO FEEDBACK regarding efforts on Readington’s behalf. Our opinion is that for all the “puffing” Mr. Panico has done in the past about his contacts, he has not been able to garner much support for Readington’s case.
  • Mr. Panico closes by saying the “Township needs to be on the CAC!” Then he transitions to needing the residents’ support… is this his groundwork for a scapegoat?

Generally, this is the most comprehensive update offered to the citizens this year. Watch for yourself.
